Alloy Steel F22 is a low alloy chromium-molybdenum (Cr-Mo) steel grade mainly used in the manufacturing of forged components, seamless pipes, fittings, flanges, and round bars for high-temperature and high-pressure service. It is equivalent to ASTM A182 F22 and ASTM A336 F22.

The steel offers good strength, toughness, and resistance to creep at elevated temperatures, making it popular in the power generation, oil & gas, and petrochemical industries.

• Carbon (C): 0.05 – 0.15%

• Manganese (Mn): 0.30 – 0.60%

• Silicon (Si): 0.50 – 1.00%

• Chromium (Cr): 1.90 – 2.60%

• Molybdenum (Mo): 0.87 – 1.13%

• Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.025%

• Sulphur (S): ≤ 0.025%

• Tensile Strength: 415 – 585 MPa

• Yield Strength (0.2% offset): ≥ 205 MPa

• Elongation: ≥ 20%

• Hardness: 170 – 220 HB (Annealed)

• Impact Strength: Good toughness at elevated temperatures

• Normalizing: 885 – 940°C

• Tempering: 650 – 700°C

• Annealing: 870 – 900°C, slow cooled

• Excellent creep resistance at high temperatures

• Good mechanical strength under pressure
