Inconel® 625 (AMS 5599, UNS N06625) is a nickel-based superalloy with excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion. The nickel-chromium matrix of this material is reinforced by the addition of molybdenum and niobium, which is alloyed through solid solution strengthening. This process allows alloy Inconel® 625 to maintain high strength and toughness at temperatures ranging from cryogenic up to 1800°F (982°C). It is non-magnetic, austenitic, and displays high tensile strength, fabricability, and brazeability. Due to its high nickel content, this alloy is nearly immune to chloride ion stress-corrosion cracking and pitting, which is commonly found in thin-walled seawater applications like heat exchangers, fasteners, and cable sheathing. INCONEL® alloy 718 (UNS N07718 / W.Nr. 2.4668) is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant nickel chromium material used at -423° to 1300°F. The age-hardenable alloy can be readily fabricated, even into complex parts. Its welding characteristics, especially its resistance to postweld cracking, are outstanding.
Inconel 718 hot-rolled plates are generally nickel alloy sheets & plates products with a thickness more than 3mm - 5mm. Inconel 718 plate inherits the superior corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and fatigue resistance of Inconel 718. In terms of the manufacturing process, Inconel 718 plate can be flattened and cut from coil, it also can be directly hot rolled from Inconel 718 billet. Compared with sheets, Inconel 718 plates have a whiter finish.
