EN19, also recognized 708M40 in BS 970 standard, is a high-quality alloy steel for general mechanical and engineering purposes. EN19 steel is characterized by its 1% chromium and molybdenum content. It is also regarded as equivalent steel grade to 42CrMo4 steel in EN standard or 4140 steel in ASTM standard.
